The Jordanian armed forces - the Arab Army - on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs after seeing seven people trying to sneak into the kingdom from Syrian territories.

In the details, a military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, said that the northern military area managed to foil a smuggling attempt of a large quantity of drugs.

The source added that the operation was conducted in close coordination with the Department of Drug Control and Military Security forces, Monday, within the area of the Jordanian-Syrian border.

The source explained that the rules of engagement were implemented after observing seven persons intending to infiltrate into the Jordanian territories, which led to their retreat towards the Syrian depth.

After searching the area, a number of bags containing 226,000 Tramadol tablets, 40 Heroin bags, and 40 Weed packs were found and transferred to the competent authorities.
