Nine Egyptians were killed and others were injured in a shooting attack on Friday at Saint Menas church in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, according to Egyptian media.

The gunman was reportedly killed while trying to break into the church, after killing an officer and two soldiers were killed.

Sources at the Egyptian Ministry of interior said another gunman escaped after the attack, and that routes in and out of Cairo were closed in an attempt to catch him.
