Israel released the Palestinian child, Fawzi Juneidi, who became famous after arrested by a full Israeli military force on December 7th.

The 17-year-old boy suffered a fracture in the shoulder after he was beaten by Israeli soldiers when he was detained for protesting in Hebron against Trump’s Jerusalem decision, according to Wafa News.

Fawzi was released from Ofer military camp near Ramallah on Wednesday where he was received by his family who took him to Ramallah Medical Complex for a physical checkup.

He was beaten and interrogated all night during detention in the Etzion settlement army camp, north of Hebron, where he was taken after his arrest, Fawzi told Wafa News.

He was then transferred to Ofer camp where he was held until his release after his family paid a financial guarantee of around $3,000 for the Israeli court to release their son.

The 17-year-old boy who became a symbol of resistance, after his image went viral on social media when he was blindfolded and surrounded by around 20 Israeli militants to arrest him, said after his release that he has pain in his right shoulder from the severe beating he received during interrogation.

According to b'tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights, 331 Palestinian minors were held in the Israeli prisons as security detainees and prisoners, including 2 administrative detainees by the end of August 2017.

However, the number of detained minors in Israeli prisons increased significantly during the last three weeks, to reach around 350 children in prisons, who are considered by Israel as criminal offenders.
