Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Friday that he will not accept any peace plan in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the US. side, saying that Washington is no longer a “neutral broker “after it recognized of Jerusalem as an Israeli capital.
At the end of his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Abbas said that “we will not accept any plan from the US because of its bias, and its violation to the international law.”
Macron said that the United States decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation had marginalized it, and that he will not do the same and recognize the Palestinian State unilaterally.
“Americans are being marginalized, and I’m trying not to do the same because this will not be worthwhile,” he added.
Earlier this month, American President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as an Israel capital, announcing he will be moving the American embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.
