On Sunday, the first school period and morning assembly in all state schools across Jordan will be dedicated to Jerusalem, the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday.

This is to raise awareness and teach kids key facts about the holy city.

This will entail discussions about Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque throughout the ages, Israel’s plan for the Judaization of Jerusalem, Jordan’s official political position on Jerusalem and their commitment to the view that East Jerusalem is Palestine’s capital, the international community’s political position and the international legal legislations on Jerusalem, and the Hashemite guardianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Ministry of Labour stressed the importance of school management, teachers and students implementing all activities relating to Jerusalem as set out by the ministry.

This comes following US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Wednesday, in which he officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and set the wheels in motion for moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city.
