The Municipality of Madaba is planning on building a Téléphérique that will connect the highest point in Mount Nebo to Oyun Musa.

The project is set to cost around 5 million JOD, according to the Mayor of Madaba, Eng. Ahmed Al Fasatleh.

Fasatleh said in a press conference on Wednesday morning: “We have talked to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs about implementing the project through a Certified Consultation Office once we have received external funds.”

He added that “we hope this project will reward the municipality with financial benefits, in addition to revitalizing tourism in the area, since Madaba has a great religious significance.”

Fasatleh added that the project will not affect the springs in Oyun Musa.
