Israeli soldiers have forced Palestinian farmers to leave their lands in the Jordan Valley area of Tubas district, according to Wafa news agency.

Israeli forces ordered the farmers to stop working and leave immediately.

It was unclear why the farmers were ordered to leave their land but 57% percent of the land in Jordan Valley is restricted military zones.

Palestinians in the Jordan Valley, an Area C district, are directly administered by the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and indirectly by the Palestinian National Authority.

The Palestinian Authority is responsible for medical and educational services in Area C while Israel is responsible for infrastructure construction.

More than half of land in the Jordan Valley is closed for us by the military, including training with explosives.

According to the UN, 20% of land in the West Bank has been restricted for military use only since the 1970s. However, in reality only 4% is actually used for active military training.
