After the surprising announcement that he has “temporarily suspended” his resignation, Lebanon’s resigned PM Saad Hariri posted on Twitter saying:

“Lebanon is a precious trust that has been entrusted by the Lebanese people in the hands of the country's parties, leaders and political currents. It is not allowed to abandon such a gift. God bless Lebanon and bless its good people. #Ba’abda #IndependenceDay”

Earlier Wednesday, Hariri announced that he has "temporarily suspended" his surprise resignation as Prime Minister, at the request of Lebanese President Michel Aoun.

Hariri arrived in Beirut on Tuesday evening to attend Lebanon's National Day celebrations.

His resignation was announced on November 4, throwing the country into political crisis.

Aoun had insisted that Hariri submit his resignation in person, alleging that it might have been made under duress.

Hariri has denied speculation that his resignation was coerced by Saudi Arabia in a move to curb the influence of Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah.
