Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) teams in Irbid shut down a store in the town of North Shuneh after discovering the place was selling expired frozen goods.

Proving that food cannot survive for long, not even under colder temperatures, the frozen foodstuffs were seized and destroyed by a joint team of JFDA specialists and environmental police officers.

Omar Tahtamuny, assistant-manager of Irbid’s Health Department said his team have been keeping busy, issuing warnings to several stores of health violations they were committing, urging them to comply with health regulations.

Tahtamuny said that Health Department have been cracking down on stores and restaurants all across the governorate in an attempt to put an end to health violations.

He urged bakery and restaurant owners to fully comply with health standards and regulations.
