An earthquake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale hit the area of Sulaymaniyah, north of Iraq on Saturday.

The earthquake hit the area at 84 kilometers underground, resulting in the escape of most residents in Sulaymaniyah.

A major earthquake had hit areas on the border between Iran and Iraq earlier this month leading to many deaths, injuries and massive amounts of physical damage in the area.
