A meeting was held Monday between the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) and the Palestinian refugees’ host countries, including Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Egypt, in addition to a delegation from the Arab League.

The DPA’s General Director Yaseen Abu Awwad stressed the importance of such meetings to ensure UNRWA is kept up-to-date on Palestinian living conditions in UNRWA’s five areas of operation: Jordan, Syria, the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Abu Awwad also pointed out that Jordan is a constant supporter of Palestine in every international conference and event.

UNRWA is working to attract funding for basic services provided for refugees until the Palestinian issue is resolved through international discussion.

The DPA is a governmental department providing services to meet the needs of Palestinian refugees’ societies in the refugees’ camps.
