Israeli settlers reportedly attacked Palestinians in the southern occupied West Bank village of Umm al-Kheir village, located in the Hebron district, on Monday afternoon, according to Maan news.

After the settlers threw stones at Palestinian homes, physical altercations erupted between Israeli settlers and Palestinians, Ratib al-Jabour, coordinator of a popular committee in the southern West Bank village, told Maan.

Crowds were dispersed by the Israeli army, who fired flares and sound bombs.

Palestinians face up to 20 years in prison for throwing stones, if the harm was proven, and up to 10 years if no proof was detected.

A total of 107 settlers attacks against Palestinians were reported in 2016, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
