A new “historic” tourist route transporting travellers from Israel, through Egypt, to Jordan was launched earlier this week, according to the Facebook page Israel in Jordan.

On Sunday, a luxurious cruise ship set sail from Jaffa Port, making its way through the Suez Canal to Egypt, before it heads to its final destination, Jordan, in the next 15 days.

Travellers who were lucky enough to take the cruise had to fork out $8,000 each for the 17-day trip. Seven out of the seventeen days will be spent at sea.

During the exciting journey, tourists will get to explore the West Bank, as well as Israel.

Palestinian writer and analyst, Fayez Abu Shamala, told online newspaper Arabi21 that Israelis will be offered safe accommodation during their stay in Jordan and Egypt.

Fifteen cruises are set to take off from Jaffa Port in the next few months and during 2018.
