King Abdullah meets Iraqi Prime Minister

Regional developments and relations between Iraq and Jordan were discussed during the meeting between His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki on Sunday, Petra News reported.

The two leaders discussed efforts to restore stability and security in Iraq during bilateral talks, followed by an extended meeting attended by Prime Minister, Hani al-Mulki and senior officials from both countries.

King Abdullah stressed Jordan's keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination in the political, economic and security fields, in addition to praising the solid relations between them.

Building a secure, stable and united Iraq is a key factor of the region's security and stability, the King said. He added that Jordan is ready to support Iraq in all its potential, in order to build a prosperous Iraq that fulfills the ambitions of its people and supports its nation.

His Majesty also congratulated the Iraqi Prime Minister for the Iraqi army’s victories against ISIS in various regions of the country.

The meeting also dealt with regional developments, efforts to find comprehensive political solutions to crises in the region, as well as efforts to fight terrorism, within a comprehensive strategy.
