Israeli police have a reputation for unfounded arrests of Palestinians, but it seems the forces have taken things to the next level after one Palestian was arrested for saying good morning.

The unwitting man was arrested by Israeli forces last week after he posted “Good Morning” on his Facebook page. Unfortunately for him, Israel's online automatic translation read the post as “attack them”, according to Haaretz newspaper.

Suspicions were peaked among Israeli police, as the 'good morning' was accompanied with a somewhat innocuous photograph of the Palestinian standing next to a bulldozer in the construction site where he works, in the West Bank settlement of Beit El, near Jerusalem.

According to Ha'aretz, bulldozers tend to be assocaited with terrorist attacks, transforming a 'good morning' work post into one of violent incitement in the eyes of the Israeli police.

Despite no Arabic speaking officer having read the post, the Palestinian was consequently arrested by Israeli officers.

He was released after a few hours, when police were notified about the mistake.
