A statement issued by UNHCR-Bangladesh announced that Jordan's Queen Rania will be visiting Rohingya Muslims at their refugee camps in Bangladesh on Monday.
The visit comes as part of Jordan's humanitarian efforts and as her Majesty's role as a supporter of the work of the United Nations’ humanitarian agencies, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Rescue Committee.
Her Majesty will visit the camps located in the southeastern city of Cox's Bazar.
The Rohingyas are a Muslim minority living in the Rakhine State in Myanmar, where they haven been subjected to sanctions from the government, which led to hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas to flee Burma to nearby countries, including Bangladesh.
