The seventh round of multilateral Syrian peace talks to be held in Astana, according to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

"As the guarantor countries of cessation of the hostilities, the seventh international high-level meeting on Syria within the Astana process will be held on October 30-31, 2017," one of ministry officials confirmed.

Astana has been hosting talks since January, aimed at reaching agreements between the Syrian armed opposition groups and the government to resolve the conflict on Syrian territory, according to Petra news agency.

The previous round was held in September and resulted in an agreement between Russia, Turkey and Iran to launch de-escalation zones in Idlib, as well as three cities in northern Syria including Hums, Northern Ghuta and Dara’a on borders with Jordan.
