A report issued by the Department of Media and Social Communication at the Ministry of Labor, read that a campaign was organized to inspect Private schools over a week starting last Sunday.

The campaign aims at ensuring the commitment of the schools at implementing the terms of the collective labor contracts which were signed by the concerned associations, especially the terms considering unified contracts and minimum wages.

According to Mohammad al-Khatib, the spokesperson of the Ministry, the campaign aimed at ensuring that the teachers wages are transferred to the banks, according to the unified contract that was signed by the Association of Public Sector Workers and the Association of Private School owners in March 2017.

The campaign came as a response to complaints of which the Ministry has lately been receiving by the private-schools-teachers who are demanding to get their wages through banks, al-Khatib added.

According to al-Khatib, 332 in different provinces were inspected, and 33 schools received warning on their part.

Women working in the teaching sector has reached higher percentages than men.

According to a statistic issued by Ministry of Education, figures show that 79736 female teachers vs 37006 male teachers work in public and private schools.
