American Foreign Ministry of foreign affairs said that the states will “carefully follow” the improvement of the humanitarian situation in Gaza after the reconciliation agreement signed between Fatah and Hamas with Egyptian mediation.

Spokesperson of Ministry of foreign affairs Heather Nauert said for journalists in Washington that “(they) welcome the effort” of “the Palestinian Authority to hold all the responsibilities in Gaza.”

“We think that (the agreement) might be a good step to facilitate the humanitarian handouts reaching to people who live there,” she added.

Rival movements of Fatah and Hamas signed earlier on Thursday a reconciliation agreement at the Egyptian intelligence headquarters in Cairo ending a decade-long split. The agreement said that the Palestinian government will work again in Gaza by the first of December at last, and that Palestinian factions will meet in November 21st in Cairo.
