This comes as part of a series of crackdowns on health violations across the Kingdom.

Madaba's Health Department shut down a restaurant over a cockroach infestation and “uncleanliness” according to the Department head, Atef Halaybeh.

Halaybeh said that the restaurant was fined, and the case will be referred to court.

Additionally, he stated that 80 fines were issued to individuals for health and environmental violations over littering streets with garbage.

The Department head talked about a campaign that has been recently launched to raise the awareness of restaurant and store owners about health issues without fining them.

Halaybeh asks that store owners in Madaba cooperate with the Health Department through following work regulations, and getting rid of garbage appropriately, without littering the streets of the city.
