At least 343 extremist Israelis broke into the Al Aqsa Mosque compound, protected by Israeli police on Tuesday morning, according to Palestine News Network.

Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib, head of the Jerusalem Islamic Awqaf, told Petra that incursions started from Al Magharaba Gate, highly protected by Israeli forces, where they performed rituals and arranged tours at the Holy Mosque during the Jewish Sukkot Holiday (Feast of Tabernacles).

The Awqaf released a statement condemning the attack and saying: “The current situation facing Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif has reached a critically dangerous level following rise in incursions by Jewish fanatics of the Mosque to an indescribable level or to compare it to previous serious situations at the Mosque,” according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Reports released by the Euro Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned earlier of continuous Israeli violations against Al Aqsa, as the incursions were one of the main reason behind protests that broke out in July this year by Palestinians, along with the closure of Al Aqsa.
