Jordanian Foreign Ministry, Ayman Al Safadi, has summoned the Syrian Chargé d’Affaires, Ayman Alloush, to express condemnation over remarks he made about the country and its pan-Arab stance, according to Petra news agency.

This comes after Alloush expressed doubt over Jordan’s participation in the 1973 war against Israel, and he said he did not ‘hear about such participation,’ noting: “The Jordanian Air Force did not shoot one bullet during the war”.

In response, the ministry said that Alloush has to accept the diplomatic conventions and standards in his press statements, and he should take measures in line with laws in this regard, the ministry said in a statement.

The former Syrian Chargé d’Affairs, Bahjat Suleiman, was expelled from Jordan in 2014 after his repeated remarks against the country.
