The Department of Statistics is currently conducting the 2017 Population and Family Health Survey, as well as a number of annual studies, household expenditure and income, and the agricultural census.

The department noted that height measurements and blood samples will be taken from Jordanian citizens.

Personal questions will be asked too in order to provide up-to-date and reliable data.

The collected information will allow the Statistics Department and the Ministry of Health, and concerned national institutions to monitor, evaluate and develop health policies and programs, especially maternal and children’s health, the department added.

The spokesman of the department, Husni al-Daaja, stressed the importance of citizen-cooperation with the researchers, after checking out their official IDs, which include their names, personal pictures and the official seal of the department.

The General Statistics Act guarantees confidentiality and privacy of individual data.
