Dr. Mohammad al Tarawneh, director of the Higher Health Council, said on Sunday that the only country in the region with higher rates of diabetes and obesity than Jordan is Kuwait.

He added that cost of treatment of diabetes in the country nears JD1bil, and that this is likely to rise in the near future with the increasing number of cases.
