Did you know that Jordan celebrates guava every year? Yes, the strong-smelling, pear-like fruit.

The Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Huneifat, opened the third National Guava Festival in Naour on Wednesday.

The festival lasted for three fruitful days, where people enjoyed everything-guava, including drinking it as a delicious juice or eating the fruit fresh.

Huneifat said during the opening ceremony that the agricultural sector has made important achievements in the development of this sector, such as supporting the food security system and pushing development in Jordan and its neighbouring countries over the past five decades.

The minister also called on the private sector to invest in the agricultural sector, in the context of the integrated use of Jordan’s natural resources.
