As kids, if we weren’t busy playing outside, we were glued to the TV screen watching one cartoon after the other.

But it was never Arabic cartoons that dominated our TV-watching time; Japanese and American cartoons were the top winners.

Dubbed into Arabic, kids in the Middle East quickly got hooked and fell in love with those cartoon characters.

Jordanian-Palestinian architect-turned-artist Nahar Bahij has decided to have some fun by reimagining what some of those characters would look like if they were Arab.

The results were as kick-ass as The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ martial art skills.
