The Jordanian and Japanese Ministers of Foreign Affairs warned of the international consequences of North Korea’s nuclear tests, and stressed the importance of stopping North Korea from developing ballistic missiles and abiding by the Security Council’s resolutions.

Ayman Al Safadi, Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed with his Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono the latest developments between the two countries, agreeing to take steps to improve economic cooperation and security and defense coordination.

The Japanese Minister praised Jordan’s efforts in hosting Syrian refugees and stressed Japan’s readiness to support the Kingdom by sharing the burden of hosting refugees.

The two ministers discussed the latest efforts in launching the talks between Palestinians and Israelis, and the latest developments in the Syrian crisis, and the war on terror.

They also stressed the importance of finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis based on the UN Security Council resolution 2254.

Safadi then talked about the results of the recent talks Jordan held with Russia and the US regarding the establishment of de-escalation zones in the Syrian south.
