A cat serial killer is at large in Karak, Jordan, but we are hoping that he will be caught before his nine lives are up.

The offender was reportedly sick of seeing stray cats roaming the streets of his village, so he took matters into his own hands by poisoning the food left out by fellow villagers for the hungry felines, according to Al Kawn News.

Dozens of cats fell prey to the killer’s trap, much to the dismay of the village’s residents.

Now, they are demanding that he is brought to justice.

Last month, a Saudi man was arrested after being found guilty of shooting cats dead in Jeddah.

The serial cat killer, dubbed the “cat butcher” by social media users, disguised his face using a Snapchat cat filter while he hunted down his neighbourhood cats and live-streamed it on Snapchat.

The killer justified his crime by saying that “those cats needed to die because they were making cars dirty.”
Animal cruelty is a serious problem in Jordan.

Thankfully, Animals Jordan Rescue was founded in June to rescue the rising number of abused animals in the Kingdom.

The rescue service also aims to find foster and adoptive homes for the animals and to raise awareness against animal abuse.
