North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that the latest hydrogen bomb test that took place last week was a “great victory for the North Korean people,” in a reportedly large celebration the North Korean leader held for the scientists behind the test.

North Korea had conducted its sixth nuclear test since 2006 last Sunday, claiming that the tested hydrogen bomb, which was designed to be mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile, was its strongest yet.

The United States and its allies expected the launch of another missile ahead of the 69th anniversary of North Korea’s founding on Saturday, but it appears that numerous events took place in NK to mark the holiday instead, including the celebration Kim held for the scientists and technicians behind it, according to Reuters.

The nuclear tests North Korea held resulted in earthquakes whose tremors were felt in Jordan early that morning, with a magnitude 6.3 earthquake.
