Catalonian police on Monday shot Yunes Abu Yaqub, the 22 year-old suspect in the van attack that took place in Barcelona on Friday, reports CNN Arabic. The suspect was announed dead on the spot. 

Abu Yaqub was a Moroccan citizen, and is suspected to have taken part in the attack with three others. Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack, and Catalonian police killed the three other suspects on the day of the attack. 

Another attack of the same nature took place in Spain on the same day.
