al-Kaladah: more than 1.3 million voters took part in decentralisation elections

Dr. Khalid al-Kaladah, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, states that the number of participants in today's elections has reached 1.302 million voters, as of 9 p.m.

He also suggested that voter turnout for elections exceeds that of the previous round, at 31.7%

In a press conference, Dr. al-Kaladah asserted that electoral procedures will be reinstated in areas which wittnessed incidents of violence, and will be cancelled in the 28th district of the governorate of Amman. 

The commission will also redo the elections for Local Council in Mawqar, Hatmiyyah, Um Batma. Ballot boxes will be preserved in safe locations until the voting window is reopened, with details to be announced later on.
