Israeli forces blocked roads leading to the Palestinian village of Wadi Fukin, west of Bethlehem in the West Bank, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the nearby settlement of Beitar Illit today.

Netanyahu set the cornerstone for 1100 settlement units in Beitar Illit, one of the largest Israeli settlements, with a population of 49,343 settlers.

The Prime Minister also announced that a road will be built between Jerusalem and the settlement to cut commuting times between the two cities, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Wadi Fukin officials said that Israeli forces blocked the only entrance to the village, preventing its inhabitants from entering or leaving.

Israeli forces told the villagers that the closure will continue until 2 in the afternoon.
