Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 21 Palestinians from various West Bank cities between Tuesday and Wednesday, including a Hamas member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), according to Palestinian and Israeli sources quoted by the Palestinian News Agency, Ma'an

Local sources told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained PLC deputy Husni Al Bourini and two others during a raid on the town of Asira Al Shamaliya in the Nablus district.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Club said in a statement that Israeli soldiers conducted raids in Ramallah, Al Bireh, Nablus, Bethlehem and Hebron, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, also reported.

6,200 Palestinians are being held in Israeli prisons, including 12 PLC members, as of May this year, according to prisoners rights group Addameer.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a biweekly average of 95 search and detention raids carried out over the course of 2016, according to UN documentation quoted by Ma'an.
