Thousands of Palestinian worshipers held the Friday prayers in the streets of Jerusalem after Israeli forces denied them entry to Al Aqsa Mosque.

Israel spread thousands of troops in the streets of Jerusalem and around the worshipers as they were praying after denying entry to all men under the age of 50 into Al Aqsa Mosque.

Friday prayers haven’t been held in Al Aqsa in two weeks, whenthree Palestinians killed two Israeli policemen in the Mosque’s courtyards in an armed confrontation.

Israel has since been applying stringent security measures including the application of metal detectors at the gates of Al Aqsa Mosque.

Palestinians have protested the security measures by boycotting prayer in Al Aqsa, until Israeli authorities removed the metal detectors a few days ago.

Yesterday, after thousands of Palestinians celebrated Israel’s removal of the metal detectors in the Mosque’s courtyards, Israeli forces and police broke into the Mosque and arrested 120 Palestinians and injured dozens.

As a result of yesterday’s confrontation with Palestinian worshipers, Israel decided to deny entry to Al Aqsa to all men under the age of 50, while women may enter regardless of their age.
