Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was arrested on Thursday for “abusing Saudi citizens.”

The arrest warrant was issued by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Thursday. The king also ordered the imprisonment of anyone who participated with him in the abusive behaviour towards citizens.

Victims and violators are now required to give a recorded statement to the police, as per King Salman’s orders. The offenders will remain in police custody until an Islamic ruling has been issued, the royal order stated.

King Salman’s order also stated that necessary steps will be taken to prevent such deviant behaviour in the Kingdom, as well as to maintain the safety of Saudi and its residents.

According to the order, anyone who violates the law, regardless of their status, will be arrested and tried under Sharia law.
