They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and that was the case with one garbage truck driver in Irbid.

After numerous complaints about state-owned bins going missing, the Irbid Police, in cooperation with the Environmental Directorate Irbid, monitored the areas where the silver bins were disappearing from.

Shortly after, the thieving driver was caught in the act.

A security source said that a municipality worker caught the driver while he was selling the large bins at a nearby scrap yard.

But not only was he involved in an illegal activity, the driver was selling the bins for dirt-cheap: Five JD per bin, when each one’s actual cost is 200 JD.

On Monday, the driver was referred to the law for further investigation.

Will he talk rubbish or finally clean up his act?
