Israeli Mista’arvim forces kidnapped and arrested Muhammad Hussein, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, according to Maan news agency and Palestine TV.

Media reports that the Mufti was assaulted and kidnapped at the Lions’ Gate in Jerusalem.

Mista’arvim forces are Israeli Defense Forces counter-terrorism units who operate undercover in Arab populations.

Earlier today, the Mufti was refused access to Al Aqsa by Israeli forces following a gunfight between Palestinians and Israeli police in one of the mosque’s courtyards this morning.
