The office of Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed, the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, will temporarily move from New York to Amman, the Cabinet agreed in a session held by Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki yesterday.

The decision to move the office to Jordan reflects the trust the international community places in the role Jordan plays to achieve regional security and stability, reports Petra.

The agreement to move Ahmed’s office will be ratified by both sides so that the envoy continues his efforts to restore peace and security to Yemen. An attaché will coordinate the relocation process.
