The Public Security Directorate (PSD) carried out wide security sweeps in Irbid yesterday, in search of suspects wanted by police for a range of cases including murder, according to a PSD source.

The source confirmed that these sweeps, carried out with the support of the gendarmerie, aimed to reinforce security throughout Irbid and to apprehend any suspects.

These campaigns, and the presence of police patrols in various areas, helped to prevent crime and guarantee the safety of civilians on the streets, the source said.

The police raids reportedly resulted in the arrest of several suspects, including the alleged killer of a middle-aged man in the city of Al Husun, Irbid.
