Qatar can survive indefinitely despite the suspension of diplomatic and economic ties by Saudi Arabia and allied Arab nations, the Qatari foreign minister told AFP on Thursday.

Asked about the impact of the measures taken this week against Qatar, Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said his country could survive "forever", adding that Qatar respected international agreements and would continue to supply liquefied natural gas -- its top export -- to the United Arab Emirates.
