- Twitch streamer Hasan Piker criticized ‘Israeli’ actress Gal Gadot, calling her a "dogsh** actress" and saying she should be banned from the Oscars.
- Piker argued that Gadot "serves an important role in normalizing Israel" as an effort to counter the perception of it being a "fascist ethno-state."
Popular Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker blasted ‘Israeli’ actress Gal Gadot, labeling her a "dogsh** actress" and questioning her presence in Hollywood.
The comments came amid discussions on politics, Hollywood, and ‘Israel's’ image in a recent interview with Variety.
Piker, known for his leftist commentary and massive online following of nearly 3 million on Twitch, quipped that Gadot "should be banned from the Oscars for being a dogsh** actress."
He elaborated, "I think she has no business being there for the crime of what she has done to not only the DC franchise, but really any movie she’s been a part of."
His comments come after director Mira Nair, Zohran Mamdani’s mother, signed a petition earlier this year calling for the Academy to rescind its invitation to Gal Gadot to appear at the Oscars for “her support for Israel’s military actions against Palestinians.”
Gadot, famous for her role as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe, has faced mixed reviews for her performances.
Shifting to a more serious tone, Piker argued that Gadot plays a key role in reshaping perceptions of ‘Israel’.
"All jokes aside, Gal Gadot serves an important role in normalizing Israel as not a fascist ethno-state, but instead a place where a lot of beautiful women come from," he said. He further noted the "weird sexualization of the forces" in reference to the ‘Israeli’ military.
Piker described ‘Israel’ in the interview as a "criminal enterprise" rooted in "75 years of apartheid" and genocide.
He contrasted Gadot with fellow ‘Israeli’ actress Natalie Portman, praising Portman for her talent and for never serving in the ‘Israeli’ military, unlike Gadot who is used to whitewash ‘Israel’, according to Piker.
