Five "Israeli" soldiers killed in Khan Younis ambush
On Friday, the Palestinian resistance carried out a well-planned ambush targeting the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the city of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, resulting in the death of five soldiers and the critical injury of two others.
According to Palestinian sources, a 12-member unit from the IOF was caught in the ambush, which led to the collapse of a booby-trapped building they were taking cover in, causing the casualties.
The sources reported that rescue operations are still underway, as several soldiers remain trapped under the rubble amid an ongoing security incident.
The ambush coincided with an escalation of the IOF's operations in Khan Younis, where the city has witnessed heavy airstrikes and artillery shelling in the northern and central areas, resulting in dozens of Palestinian deaths since Thursday.
This escalation comes during the Eid al-Adha holiday, which has been marred by the sound of bombing and the suffering of residents.
