Jordan's army chief meets with US Congress members

On Thursday, Major General Yousef Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, welcomed a delegation of senior advisors to members of the US Congress at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).

The discussions during the meeting focused on significant regional and international developments, emphasizing the shared efforts to enhance global peace and security. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together to address challenges in line with their common strategic interests.

Major General Huneiti took the opportunity to highlight the longstanding and robust partnership between Jordan and the US. He expressed appreciation for the continuous support and attention that the US provides to Jordan in various military and defense sectors.

The meeting was attended by the US Defense Attaché and several senior officers from the JAF. The delegation received in-depth briefings on the JAF's latest modernization and development initiatives, which are aimed at addressing the evolving challenges in the region and around the world.

The visiting delegation expressed their admiration for Jordan’s leadership, particularly under King Abdullah II, in the fight against terrorism and efforts to curb cross-border smuggling. They emphasized Jordan's vital role in promoting security and stability throughout the Middle East.
