Wael Al-Saqqa, Secretary-General of the Islamic Action Front (IAF), reaffirmed the party's full commitment to Jordanian law and constitutional principles, distancing the party from the recent government decision banning the political activities of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Speaking during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Amman on Wednesday, Saqqa emphasized that the IAF has operated in line with national laws for over three decades.

Saqqa stated that the party has carried out all its activities and responsibilities in accordance with the Jordanian constitution and law.

He revealed that security personnel visited all of the party’s branches across the Kingdom this week. The party complied with a directive from the public prosecutor by granting judicial police full access to its offices.

He stressed that the IAF has nothing to hide and operates transparently under the rule of law. “Everyone in Jordan is subject to the law,” he said, noting that the party has previously participated in national dialogue sessions focused on modernizing Jordan’s political system.

Saqqa was firm in clarifying the party's position regarding the recent crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood, saying, “The government’s decision to ban the political activity of the Muslim Brotherhood does not concern the party.”

He described the IAF as an independent Jordanian political entity with no links to any organization that poses a threat to the country’s security or stability.

“No party member has been arrested,” Al-Saqqa added, reaffirming the IAF’s commitment to lawful political engagement and its belief in due process and the independence of the judiciary.
