'Israel' rearrests freed detainee Hanan Barghouti
Israeli Occupation Forces rearrested freed Palestinian detainee Hanan Barghouti, known as "Um Enad," during a wide-scale raid early Wednesday in the village of Kobar, north of Ramallah, according to Roya's correspondent.
Barghouti was previously released in December 2024 after spending nine months in administrative detention without formal charges. Her re-arrest signals a return to Israel’s practice of arbitrary detention.
Barghouti is one of the most prominent women in the Palestinian detainee movement. She is the wife of detainee Mohammad Barghouti, the sister of longtime detainee and leader Nael Barghouti, and the mother of two imprisoned sons, Islam and Abdullah Barghouti—making her family one of the most affected by Israel’s detention policies.
