Tel Aviv official announced on Tuesday that they have decided not to proceed to Cairo to continue negotiations on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange based on the latest proposal.

Tel Aviv will await responses on Wednesday evening before making further decisions, according to Israeli Occupation radio.

Hebrew media had previously reported that an Israeli Occupation delegation was expected to head to Cairo on Tuesday to discuss a prisoner exchange deal with the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and a ceasefire in Gaza.

Earlier, Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya announced that the Palestinian resistance had received a response from the Israeli Occupation to its position, which had been submitted to the Egyptian and Qatari mediators on April 13.

Meanwhile, Hamas declared that a delegation from the resistance is visiting Cairo to discuss a ceasefire proposal in Gaza

Reuters quoted a senior figure in the resistance, who spoke on condition of anonymity, saying that the delegation would discuss a ceasefire proposal submitted by the movement to Qatar and Egypt, who are leading the mediation efforts, as well as the "Israeli" response.

The source indicated that Hamas might respond to the latest proposal from "Israel" regarding a phased truce that was submitted last Saturday.

In another development, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed optimism about the truce proposal and the release of captives in Gaza, confirming that Egypt is awaiting a response to the proposal from both "Israel" and Hamas.

In further comments, Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State noted that "Hamas has to decide, and it has to decide quickly," adding, "We hope Hamas makes the right decision."

Blinken affirmed, "Hamas has a very generous proposal in hand."
