A series of explosions were heard near the Syrian capital, Damascus, with the incident currently under investigation by security authorities, according to a Roya correspondent on Saturday.

Initial reports suggest that Syrian military units reacted to incursions and surveillance balloons near the Al-Fardous suburb, the correspondent said.

Subsequent sources confirmed that Syrian defenses retaliated against objects believed to be drones or surveillance drones in the Damascus countryside.
