Jordan’s Asian Cup campaign has come to end following a 3-1 defeat to host nation Qatar at Lusail Stadium.

The game saw much controversy after Qatar scored all their three goals from the penalty spot after the Chinese referee Ma Ning returned to Video Assisted Referee (VAR) in all the occasions.

Akram Afif opened the scoring in the first half, before Jordan’s Yazan Naimat equalized after a brilliant strike in the second.

Minutes after, Afif scored a second penalty before scoring his third and final one in stoppage time in the second half.

This is Jordan’s best every result in the AFC Asian Cup history.
