Jordan soars past Tajikistan to AFC Asian Cup semi-finals

Jordan advanced to the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 after beating Tajikistan 1-0. Abdullah Nassib scored Al-Nashama’s one and only goal in the 66th minute.

This is the best-ever result for the national team so far in the tournament’s history, and they are set to face South Korea in the semi-finals next Tuesday, February 6.

Al-Nashama have received USD 1.2 million dollars so far in prize money in the tournament.

The total prize money for the competition is USD 14.8 million, the winner of the tournament will receive USD five million dollars, the runner-up will receive USD three million, and the two teams who’s journey will end at the semi-finals will each receive USD one million.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah congratulated the national football team on their 1-0 victory over Tajikistan and the historic qualification to the semi-finals of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

"Congratulations to Al-Nashama!" Her Majesty said on her “X” account.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein joined the celebrations on the field in Ahmad bin Ali stadium in Qatar following the final whistle.
