A preliminary investigation by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), following the announcement of the killing of three Israeli Occupation captives by IOF gunfire, has revealed new details about how they were accidentally killed.

The investigation indicates that the three captives raised white flags in front of the IOF soldiers, but were shot as an act of revenge against the Palestinians, according to Hebrew media reports.

The Hebrew newspaper 'Yedioth Ahronoth' stated that the body of one of the blonde captives raised suspicions among the soldiers that they were Israeli Occupation captives.

The IOF conducted a preliminary investigation into the incident that occurred in Shuja'iya, stating that the soldiers who opened fire on the captives did not act per the rules of engagement.

An IOF officer said, "We were not prepared for a scenario in which the captives roam freely in the streets of Gaza."

A senior official in the southern command, according to the Hebrew newspaper, explained that the IOF soldiers were stationed in a multi-story building in Shuja'iya in an area where no civilians remained, and one of the soldiers identified three people leaving a nearby building.

He continued describing the incident saying that they were shirtless, holding a stick with a white cloth. The soldier shouted "terrorists," and contrary to the rules of engagement, they were fired upon, injuring two. The third captive returned unharmed to the building he came from.

According to Hebrew media, the forces demanded the third captive to come out of the building. His cries for help in Hebrew were heard, and when he exited the building, the commander ordered the soldiers to cease fire.

However, another soldier from a nearby building fired at him and injured him, he added.
